Alteo heavily invests in grinding capacity in France and Korea

Alteo, world leader in the production of specialty alumina, announces the completion of its fourth expansion project of grinding capacity  in Korea, as well as a second expansion in France at the end of September 2024. These significant developments considerably strengthen our position in the global alumina market, particularly in the semiconductor (HYCal range) and battery (SEPal range) sectors.

In Korea, the completion of our fourth grinding capacity extension  in Korea confirms our leading position in super-grinding in Asia. Since its inauguration in 2019, this site has seen its capacity increase fivefold, successfully establishing our presence in the Asian semiconductor and battery markets.

At the same time, we are responding to growing demand from our battery customers in Europe with a new phase of expansion at our Gardanne site. Specializing in the calcination of specialty alumina, this site will see an additional 50% increase in its super-grinding capacity, operational by the end of September 2024. This comes on top of a successful initial 50% expansion in 2022.

These investments are not limited to increasing our supergrinding capacity. We are also strengthening our alumina sifting and alumina iron removal capabilities, while introducing a robotized packaging workshop. These developments testify to our ongoing commitment to consolidating our position as a leading partner in the European battery market.

The significant contribution of every member of this company is an essential pillar of Alteo’s continued success, and these expansions testify to our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.
