TIMAL: heat dissipation
for better thermal management

Rapid and efficient heat dissipation is an increasingly important requirement for electronic components that are ever more powerful and so generate even more heat.
For example, the spectacular increase in demand for renewable-energy vehicles was made possible largely by the lithium-ion battery technology. However, to power the vehicles, a large number of battery cells are necessary. This makes it essential to transfer the generated heat, to ensure that key components operate correctly.
This is the role of thermal interface materials.

The thermal interface materials come in several forms:

  • Silicone sheets – pads and tapes of different thickness and hardness. It also provides electrical insulation
  • Oils, gels and greases
  • Gap fillers – pastes, which are particularly useful when the dissipation surface is not flat

Alteo’s TIMAL range was developed as constituent material for thermal interface materials, in order to:

  • Increase thermal dissipation capacity
  • Ensure faultless electrical insulation
